Great School Event Ideas For This School Year & How To Execute!

When preparing the right School Event, Ideas are very important especially if you want to make your school stand out, acquire funds for new projects, or make an impact on your community.

However, with so many ideas out there, it can be hard to figure out what school marketing plan to opt for. It all comes down to a variety of factors, but in the end, you need something powerful, unique, and different.

Themed Christmas Party

This is one of the School Event Ideas that works great for the end of the year. You can create a pool and see what kids want that theme to be. This way you have to buy-in from all of the kids in your school!

Quick Tip: you can use Google Docs (free) or Typeform (paid) to collect input from both students and parents.

It’s a very creative and it’s fully customizable. The theme can be medieval, the 90s, the 60s, superhero, it doesn’t matter. You can make just about anything Christmassy!

If you want more buy-in from your community, partner with a local charity and split profits 50/50. Maybe half goes to your worthy student fund and the other half goes to Habitat for Humanity

You could even generate a list of local organizations and include that on your survey of students and parents!

Carnival with Games and Fun

For this School Event Ideas, you need some third-party entertainers, but it will be a whole lot of fun because it’s different and unique at the same time.

This can go two different routes….

Route #1: The Professional

Hire local Games and rides. Most cities have a local rental place that usually will give you a good deal if its for a good cause.

Just google this: Local Carnival Rental

Warning: Whatever you do make sure you do the math for how much money you are spending and what your return will be. If you spend $10,000 Make sure you know you can generate at least $10,000 to cover your costs!

Route #2: The fun

Make your own games and have students, families, and parents run them. Carnival Savers has a ton of free booth ideas for you to choose from!

If you go this route, make sure you are marketing it outside of just your families because they will be running it!

You can adapt this party to be a hybrid. Bring in a few professional magicians as well as students managing booths and now you have an amazing school event!

Art show

You can also go with a simpler School Event Idea. Can create an art contest where students can enter whenever they want. Give them a theme and then collect the artworks.

You can then create an event where you invite parents to see all these works. This can also be a great way to meet with parents and talk about school. This is a very interesting, fun set of ideas and it will actually work quite nicely.

Bonus Tip: If you want to generate even more buzz within your local community. Contact a local art gallery and feature professional artwork alongside student pieces. Then invite the community. You might even be able to sell tickets.

Pizza and game night

Another great School Event Idea is to opt for a pizza and game night routine. Kids love pizza, and they also enjoy playing games. It’s one of the best ways for kids to socialize and just have fun for a change.

You can be as creative as you want with this type of idea. And it will be an enjoyable evening which is what you want to have at the end of the day.

Make A Plan
If you make this a quarterly on semi yearly event. You can even invite local community members which is a great way to help influence your community and also recruit more amazing families to be apart of your mission!

Here is a list of some great games that can be adapted for your school

In Summary

All these School Event Ideas are great for your promoting your school! They are a stellar part of any school marketing plan, and you should consider implementing them in the best possible way.

Of course, it does take a bit of trial and error to see what works in your community and what doesn’t, but in the end, you will find the right option!
